Nolan Theisen is a co-founder of the CEEGEO Initiative and Senior Research Fellow for Energy and Climate Policy at the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA) with over ten years of experience working on a range of climate and energy topics centering on Visegrad Four (Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland) countries. After enrolling in Reykjavik University’s Iceland School of Energy (ISE) summer geothermal field-study programme in 2021, he began to focus more generally on decarbonization of the neglected heating & cooling sector and more specifically on unlocking the untapped geothermal potential across Central and Eastern Europe. Mr. Theisen holds a Masters of International Affairs (MIA) with a focus in international economics from the University of California, San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy.
