This webinar, co-hosted by European Parliament’s Vice-President and Member Martin Hojsík (RE) and Jan Farský (EPP) and organized/livestreamed by the Central and Eastern European Geothermal Initiative (CEEGEO) in partnership with the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA), is an opportunity for EU policymakers, CEE geothermal industry and the financial sector to exchange ideas and perspectives on how geothermal energy can become a driving force for improved energy security and competitiveness across the CEE region that remain highly dependent on volatile energy imports and unsustainable levels of biomass. Speakers will have an opportunity to reflect on the EU’s imminent Geothermal Action Plan and discuss in more detail the financial mechanisms available for EU geothermal energy projects.
